Pterosaurs were fossil flying animals which lived during the Triassic, Jurassic and Cretaceous Eras.  They were around for about 150 million years, which is a vast amount of time.  They became extinct about 65 million years ago at the same time as the dinosaurs.  Humans have only been on this planet for 2 million years.  Click on the links to find out more.

The Pterosaur Database is a site for people who are interested in fossil pterosaurs.  It provides information about the fossils and the scientific work with the fossils.  There is a bibliography of scientific papers and a list of museum fossils on  www.pterosaur.co.uk

The contents of this school site can be used for homework and project work provided that you say where you found this information.   The Pterosaur Database - Schools pages  www.school.pterosaur.co.uk
