The best early pterosaurs fossil is Eudimorphodon ranzi. A drawing of it's skull is shown. This fossil was found in the Zorzino Limestone, near Bergamo in Italy. Fish scales were found near the animals stomach when it was examined under a microscope. This pterosaur had fish for its last meal. Several different species of Eudimorphodon have been found in the Triassic rocks.
The pterosaurs from the Triassic Era had long tails. They were known as Rhamphorhynchoid Pterosaurs. Most of the early pterosaurs also had very large teeth.
