Partial Bone
Where sediments are derived, delicate bones like those of pterosaurs will be broken up or worn by sediment movement. This occurs in the Cambridge Greensand of England. Fossils tend to be fragmentary and there are many more sturdy parts represents in the sediments, like teeth, cervical vertebrae, jaw ends, long bone ends and wing bone fragments. The fine bones of feet, ribs and skull bones seldom survive.
